ENVIRONMENT PRESERVATION COMMITMENT

At INFERTOSA we work with organic materials, and supply various products for organic farming.

INFERTOSA has a commitment towards the Environment preservation, a principle always present in our business structure.

We are members of the “International Peat Society”, an association that actively monitors the sustainability of peatlands and wetlands at an international level.

Our processes and production methods are in line with our philosophy of environmental-friendly production. Therefore, we obtain our peat following strict principles of sustainability and respect for the biodiversity of peatlands.

INFERTOSA was awarded for its contribution to the rejuvenation of wetlands and its responsible drain-free extraction system, which significantly increases biodiversity in the natural park “Prat de Cabanes-Torreblanca” through the creation of lagoons and islands resulting from peat extraction.

This creates an ideal habitat for the development of underwater life and the nesting, breeding and migration of numerous species of birds, whilepreserving the most threatened traditional areas and promoting a coexistence that significantly increases biodiversity in the area. Some of the inhabitants of our peatbog are the Red Duck, European Pochard, Purple Heron, Gray Heron, Little Egret, White Heron, White-faced Fumarel, or the Mantin Fishing.

This award is a recognition to the work carried out by the company since the environmental monitoring protocol was signed with the natural park’s management, aimed at improving and increasing biodiversity.
